Another day, another new branch of a beloved Japanese brand opening in Hong Kong—no, we’re not talking about Don Don Donki (though we are almost always humming that jingle in our heads). Just one month after unveiling their first foreign branch of “digital adventure playground” Docodoco in Tseung Kwan O, Japanese video game and arcade company Namco (who brought us Pac-Man, Tekken, and more) is opening yet another indoor playroom on our shores—this time in Tuen Mun!
The latest branch of Namco concept Asobi Park Plus—which translates to “Play Park Plus”—is due to officially open its doors today. Located inside the 9,000-square-foot Namco arcade at Tuen Mun Town Plaza, which opened earlier this month, the toddler-friendly playroom is the largest Asobi Park location in Hong Kong at 4,000 square feet.
With five dynamic play zones—including a glamping attraction, a mini traffic park, a dinosaur-themed play area, and more, there are tons to explore! In a cute nod to Hong Kong, the park’s famous Eco Ride zone has swapped miniature versions of Tokyu buses for Hong Kong minibuses and marked the faux railway line with a “Tuen Mun Station” sign. Keep an eye out for the mini replicas of the Big Buddha and Tsing Ma Bridge, too!
Once the tykes have tired of traffic, they can also try their hand at “grilling” food in the glamping area, building a house with faux bricks, and “painting” by throwing balls at the interactive “Poi Poi Paint Wonder Colouring” video game!
