Updated: Covid-19 vaccination incentives you can receive in Hong Kong

As part of the government’s “Early Vaccine for All” campaign that was announced last week, a host of businesses and public institutions have announced prizes and offers to incentivise more people to get vaccinated against Covid-19. Application details will be confirmed by the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce at a later date, but some of the incentives announced so far include a $10-million apartment, Tesla, and a multitude of cash prizes.

Sino Group is offering a $10.8-million apartment at its Grand Central property in Kwun Tong to one lucky vaccinated HKID holder in conjunction with Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation. Additionally, $100,000 cash prizes are also available to the 20 runners-up. Applications open on 15 June and close on 1 September—click here for more information on how to enter the lucky draw.

Transport and travel

Cathay is offering three covetable prizes as part of their vaccine lottery. One winner will get to throw a private party on an A321neo jet while it flies within Hong Kong airspace; 10 winners stand to receive 1 million Asia Miles each, and another 100 winners will get 100,000 Asia Miles each.

Airport Authority Hong Kong will give away 50,000 air tickets to Hong Kong residents who receive the vaccination before 30 September, and 10,000 tickets to Hong Kong International Airport staff who do the same.

MTR will give away 500 annual passes valued at $20,000 each, granting winners unlimited metro journeys for a year (excluding the Airport Express or journeys to and from Lo Wu or Lok Ma Chau). More details to follow.

Hotel stays and activities

Shangri-La Group will give one year of unlimited stays at any of their 100-plus hotels worldwide to one very lucky winner who has received the vaccination. To be eligible, applicants must be HKID-holding residents over the age of 18 and have received both doses of the vaccine before 31 August.

The Langham Hospitality Group (which runs The Langham Hong Kong, Cordis Hong Kong, and Eaton HK) is offering 3,000 nights at 50 percent off to fully vaccinated guests who book their “Stay Safe and Save” staycation on or before 31 July, with a stay period that is valid from 1 June to 31 August.

Ocean Park visitors who have received at least one Covid-19 jab can redeem in-park dining and game coupons before 30 June.

Cash and prizes

Goodman Hong Kong will give one person a Tesla Model 3 Long Range electric car worth $500,000, while runners-up will receive other (yet to be confirmed) prizes.

Swire Group will give $10,000 in vouchers to spend at its malls (Pacific Place, Cityplaza, and Citygate Outlets) to 500 winners.

The Clearwater Bay Golf and Country Club will hand out $10,000 cash prizes to five lucky winners.

China Construction Bank (Asia) will give one winner a credit card worth $128,000 and dole out over 500 cash prizes.

The Hong Kong Association of Banks has allotted $100,000 in spending credit or vouchers for a lucky draw; the number of winners and exact details have yet to be confirmed.

The Chinese Manufacturers’ Association will give away $3 million on credit cards and as-yet-unspecified shopping discounts across two lucky draws in July and September. 

Cosmetics and personal care chain Sa Sa will hold 10 weekly lucky draws starting from 1 August, with vouchers worth $100,000 being given out every week along with other prizes like VIP membership and free products.

Pacific Bar Group will give out prizes totalling $6 million in worth to eligible residents; gifts include drinks credit, Chivas Regal, Johnnie Walker black label, French wine, international beers, and alcohol storage services.

Property developer Chinachem Group has put up a thousand $1,000 shopping vouchers for its malls up for grabs, as well as 50 annual passes to dinner buffets at its hotels, and a hundred annual family movie passes for any of their cinemas.

3 Hong Kong will give 33 winners an iPhone 12 Pro in a lucky draw for new and returning customers vaccinated on or before 31 August. Meanwhile, the first 10,000 vaccinated customers who upgrade their contracts to 5G can also enjoy an extra 33GB of 5G data, while 10,000 vaccinated customers who buy mobile phones at 22 of 3 Hong Kong’s flagship stores will get an $800 discount

Family Mask will give out 100 of their V99 colourful adult masks to 1,000 vaccinated people. The giveaway, which will be split into two batches, will be available on a first-come-first-served basis to the first 500 people who register at noon on 6 June and 20 June.

Vision Finance Group will give 15 vaccinated residents $1.5 million in shares to SIIC Environmental Holdings.

Hong Kong residents who have received at least one Covid-19 jab—and any Hospital Authority workers, vaccinated or not—visiting Disneyland before 28 June can redeem a goodie bag worth $250 from the park’s gift shop. To secure the bag, visitors must first register for a “My Disney” account.

Yata shoppers can get a five percent off their purchases every Thursday between 8 July to 31 August by showing their vaccination card before payment.

Pricerite customers who show proof of vaccination can upgrade to a VIP membership free of charge this month. The membership, which normally requires $15,000 of spending, entitles VIPs to a five-percent discount year-round, discounted delivery, and 15 percent off during your birthday month.
